Tshuma Mo! is an interactive map that allows people to search for the nearest FREE WiFi zone in a township near them.
Tshuma Mo!, which means “switch on” in Setswana is a 1D interactive map which will showcase the perimeters of all townships in Gauteng along with their respective free WiFi hotspots. Users will be able to identify WiFi hotspots closest to their current location/township.
The project responds to the importance of developing the ICT sector and the need to broadcast and distribute content to communities who do not have access regularly to wifi. It is an important attempt to establish a distribution network.
